| ok...so I know its been a while since I've written...So here is the "Cliff Notes" version of what has been going on the last few weeks... Truck has been on two sucessful trips to Panamint Valley and Death Valley. 4WD'd all over the place and has been totally worth the expense of having the truck. I am still very amazed at how well it manages to "truck" over everything in its path. Though this most recent trip wasn't without incident. I managed to pop a tire, but I contribute it to the dealer overinflating the front tires. So after doing a little pleading, I got the Tire guy to hook me up with a pro-rate and I replaced the spare which I had swapped for the slashed tire. The tire managed to get about a 1/2" slash in between the treads and rapidly was letting all the air out. Problem was that it was done at the beginning of the trip and I had mentioned earlier to the other campers that I felt the tires were over inflated. C'est La Vie.....Least its fixed now... I also managed to pull off one of the front mud flaps as well, but I think this was done in the driveway at Osborne Cabin. Easily replaced. Thom and I have been doing well. I don't get to see him quite as much anymore. I think we both need some space right now. Its a good thing, and quite frankly, I spent two hours on the phone with him last night. keep in mind that he lives 20 minutes away.. Gotta love those free night and weekend minutes. Last night I finally finished painting the walls in the front room. The ceiling is next and I hope to have it done this week. I began a rampage of unpacking last week and managed to get about 70% of the boxes unpacked before getting distracted with other projects. I need to start a page on the site for the truck and the mods I am currently working on. I am in the process of building a computer for teh truck to play MP3s and for navigation. (It'll play DVDs too by the time I am done...but just not at the moment.) I got a really cool Xenarc 7" touch screen that I hope will work great. Problem is that the truck doesn't seem to have a good place to mount it without it being in the way. So I am currently work on trying to find a good place for it. I think its going to end up folding out of the center console for safe keeping. It does show a really nice picture and will work outstanding for what I plan on doing with it. We shall see, as its still in the "pieces on the workbench" stage.. Work is going well, though kinda slow at the moment. Always fun none-the-less. Insterestingly enough, Mom has some projects for me to work on in the next few weeks. Other than that...all else is pretty quiet. More camping and pics to come. Right now, I better get to work..
